Welcome to my home town 'Mangalore's one of the fastest growing cities in India. Mangalore is located in the coastal district of Dakshina Kannada district in Karnataka state in India, the name Mangalore has come from the famous Mangaladevi temple. Mangalore is known by several names 'Kudla' in tulu, 'Mangaluru' in Kannada, 'Mangalavaram' in Malyalam, etc.Mangalore has a mix of all cultures and has everything to offer from tourist places to being a education hub to being a pioneer in transport s s system. Mangalore is well connected by road, rail, water and air. There are 3 National Highways passing through Mangalore, NH17, NH13 and NH 48. The New Mangalaore port has become one of the key ports in west cost connecting to rest of the world. Mangalore has also got a International airport connecting to various places in India and largely the gulf countries. Train services are there to Mangalore from almost many importnat places in India. The longest train being the Mangalore - Jammutavi Express. The most importnat means of commuting in Mangalore is its extensive bus service reaching almost all parts of Mangalore and other places around.

Mangalore is located in Dakshin Kannada District in Karnataka state on the banks of Arabian Sea and is very close to the Western Ghat mountain ranges.  Hence You can find good greenery around.

Bus Stands & Starting Points

City Bus stand

 The main city bus stand is called "State Bank" , dont get confused when you see the board of the bus, the bus stand is near the Head office of State Bank in Mangalore hence it called State Bank. It was one of the oldest landmark buildings.

Service Bus Stand

 Located in Neheru Maidan just opposite to City Bus stand from here  private ordinary and express bus going out of Mangalore city operates.

 KSRTC Bus Stand

 The Karnataka state Road Transport buses operate from Bejai bus stand.  Mainly long route buses operate from this place to all places in Karnataka.

Milagress Cross Road

 From here many private luxury buses going towards Mumbai, Pune, Goa, Kerala operate. There are many private bus agencies in this place.

 Three wheeler Auto's are there to go around within city. The Minimum fare is Rs 15 for 2 KMS. And Rs 8 for extra KM.   Like any other city in India Auto drivers are a pain, they usually ask more than the meter and sometime refuse to travel the place where you want.
